Pattern
When the only way to win is to stop playing.
Why this happens
Some situations can't be improved from inside. The system — a toxic team, a draining relationship, an environment that rewards the wrong things — absorbs your energy and converts it into more of the same. Every attempt to "make it work" just gives you more evidence that it doesn't. The spiral happens when you keep trying to optimize your behavior inside a structure that's fundamentally broken. The move isn't to play better. It's to stop playing.
